I remember being a kid and hearing voices and having a ‘sense’ beyond what we can see with the naked eye. I was always energetically sensitive to my surroundings, people, animals, and had vivid dreams that sometimes came true. Growing up in a religious household led to me suppressing these powers but I never resonated with the teachings and eventually diverted away. I spent my childhood being creative without overthinking it.

Then, when an important family member passed away right when I started high school, I went through my dark night of the soul.

This death exposed the complexities of emotions in life. I didn’t always cope well, but it was part of the raw experience that sparked my awakening. I questioned the "just work and die" mindset and was curious about what lies beneath the surface of the human experience. I first meditated in my junior year during an Intro to Psychology class, which inspired me to take AP Psychology the following year. I spent a lot of time studying ideologies and human behavior, focusing on understanding the mind for healing. It became my thing. I stayed inquisitive and philosophical through adolescence and into college, where I discovered my next tool for blending spirituality with psychology—crystals.

I found my first crystals at a random shop one day and was amazed at how accurately their metaphysical properties resonated with my life. Then, meditating with a Smoky Quartz connected me with the family member who had passed. It was a profound experience that pushed me to explore further. In 2018, I taught myself to make jewelry and became an event vendor. I still offer this today at @OG.OriginalGoddess. Through these events, I met someone who taught me Reiki (Energy Healing). I began offering sessions at local park events, then took my first clients on my bed in my parents' house. I was touched by how people reacted to the energy I shared through jewelry, but the 1:1 healing sessions showed a different passion. It motivated me to explore what else I could offer.

That fire sparked my interest in the healing arts, reminding me of what I wished I had when coping with my family’s death. While crystals and Reiki are great, I wanted to explore my own culture. I believe we can honor everything more deeply when we connect with our roots. In 2021, I started enrolling in immersions and workshops that helped me explore Filipino history and traditions, especially precolonial knowledge. I even went to the Philippines in March 2024 to further my studies in Hilot. It was a milestone that deepened my connection with my homeland and Ancestors, who are essential to any healing journey as our guides in this earthly realm.
